Shi Hao is the main protagonist of Perfect World. He also features in the Donghua (ONA/Anime).

Personality

2Sg2SjK

He is kind-hearted and honest, sometimes he is also naive. Later in the novel, he becomes a total foodie, killing and eating everything he can get his hands on. Despising humanoid enemies as he couldn’t eat them.

Although he was kind-hearted and honest, he was not weak. If others wanted to kill him like this, he naturally had to retaliate and defend himself.

Background

His parents left him on Stone Village while they were searching for medicine to cure him. When they left him, he looked like he was just a few months old due to his weak body, but he was a 1-year-old boy. His parents took care of him in the village for a while until they were sure that he wouldn't die, after that they left.[5]

  • Since then, Shi Hao grew up in the Stone Village, all of the people in the village loves and considers him as their blood-relative.

History

Lower Realm: Start

Shi Hao was brought as an infant by his mother and father to Stone Village, the child was injured and the couple left him there to seek a cure to save him.

Years passed, and the child grew, at the age of about 1 or 2 years, after learning to walk from just a few months old, he had already begun training with all the others. Of course, he went on his own and mingled with the older children, and it was clear that he shouldn't have appeared in that group. Shi Yunfeng, the head of Stone Village, took care of him as if he were his own son. Shi Hao grew up drinking the milk of fierce animals, and he continued even after the weaning period, finding it delicious, which is why he was often teased by some older children.

From the beginning, Shi Hao proved to be special; already at the age of one and a half, he managed to incorporate a small part of a Bone Text, an incredible feat since it is said to take several years for the bone text to even slightly enter a person's body. Furthermore, most people would never be able to do it. Even during the usual Medicinal Bath, he could be seen differentiating himself from the others. The other children bathed in water containing bones and blood of wild beasts and medicinal herbs, and for them, it was excruciating pain meant to forge their bodies. Instead, Shi Hao bathed in a cauldron filled only with blood and bones of beasts, with a small amount of water; even many adults would struggle to bathe in this cauldron, but Shi Hao could endure it, only making small grimaces of pain. At the age of just three, he could lift an ancient cauldron weighing more than a thousand Jin, which many of the older children couldn't lift.

The inhabitants of Stone Village, seeing Shi Hao's extraordinary abilities, feared that his potential would be wasted there, so they decided to implement a custom practiced in the major sects. Namely, that at the age of five, he would receive the first crucial baptism of his life. A good amount of panaceas would be placed inside a copper furnace along with true ancient blood and a few other ingredients to slowly refine the body, allowing him to increase his strength. The villagers were somewhat discouraged about being able to compete with the major sects, but they did their best to set aside as many materials as possible in these two years.

Through the power of the willow branch the past of Shi Hao was revealed. When he was between eight and nine months of age his parents discovered that he was Supreme Being Bones Naturally Born, that is, he was born with sacred bones and thus being born with his own primitive impressions, earning his own precious technique, which would make him a supreme specialist in the future.

But his parents left him alone at home and went to his grandfather who after killing a descendant of an archaic beast of pure blood was chased by another archaic beast, eventually fleeing to an unknown location.

While being kept secret that little Shi Hao was a Supreme Being Bones Naturally Born, was discovered by Shi Yi's mother who took him away and stole his Supreme Being Bones Naturally Born and transplanted him to his son Shi Yi as well as his true blood within his body to nurture the Supreme Bone Being within Shi Yi.

After that is entire body lost its spiritual essence, and it severely degenerated, he was clearly eight to nine months old, but because of his critical injuries, he seemed to have become several months younger. His body got worse every day.

He continued to degenerate. It was as if there was a bottomless pit within his body eating away at his blood essence and bones. He seemed like he was only a few months old and did not seem as intelligent as he was before, practically unable to recognize the people beside him.

Trivia

  • In his advance to the Heavenly Passage Realm, he advanced simultaneously the first three levels being instantly promoted to the Heavenly Passage’s mid-stage.
  • Shi Hao was dead for a year and 3 months altogether.
  • Because his first Supreme Being Bone was taken away from him, his second Supreme Being Bone had the mysteries of Reincarnation in it, and it’s because of that, that when he decided to self Implode and kill Huang Yu it instead brought him a great chance and allowed him to experience death and reincarnation. [6][7][8]
  • He gave his second Supreme Being Bone to his brother Qin Hao. [9]
  • The mysterious Five-Colored Sparrow that Shi Hao used to chase around while he was young, and then when Shi Hao planted precious medicine in Stone Village stole some to make a nest, is what allowed Shi Hao to experience reincarnation by using Yin-Yang land and Undecaying Grass.[10]
  • During his advancement through Divine Flame Realm he had to repeatedly fight a mysterious ghostly energy, which at one point resembled Shi Hao himself who seemed confused at his defeat and death. The sect master level people know what is this energy. It also seems that “that step” into immortality always brings about these ghostly apparitions.
  • It took the burning of the 3,000 bluestone paths dao, killing Fallen Divine Child and absorbing his initial stage immortal dao strand, and cultivating with the immortal bones absorbing their radiance for Shi Hao to fully develop his first strand of Immortal Energy. [11]
  • Shi Hao is not the first to try and use the 10,000 dao to ignite the true self, as the long lived White Tortoise Carrying Immortal informed him, it was in fact the Little Immortal King. [12]
  • Shi Hao has died several times, totaling up to 11 so far.[13]
  • The author never mentions Shi Hao entering Divine Flame Realm Late-stage, and instead mentions Shi Hao being “at the peak of his cultivation realm” a couple of times, then directly advancing into True Deity Realm. [14] [15]
  • In his advancement to the True Deity realm, he went straight to the middle stages because he had saved up his energy which he could use to break through so he could cultivate Immortal strands.[15]
  • Reincarnation Imprint: 10
  • In "Holy Ruins," it is mentioned that Shi Hao has two sons. The first son is attributed to Yun Xi, while the parentage of the second is not explicitly specified.

However, considering the context in which Yun Xi and Yue Chan, the other two wives of Shi Hao, were sealed due to their limited cultivation, it is plausible that the second son was born to Huo Ling'er. This hypothesis is supported by the fact that when Huo Ling'er became aware of Shi Hao's paternity regarding Yun Xi, she was deeply disturbed because if she had not been kidnapped, she presumably would have been the one to give birth to his eldest child.

Furthermore, it should be considered that due to Shi Hao's high level of cultivation, conceiving a child was extremely difficult; for example, the gestation period of Shi Fan lasted nine years, during which Shi Hao's cultivation level was significantly lower than when he conceived the second child. Given the limited cultivation of Yun Xi and Yue Chan, Huo Linger was the only plausible candidate to carry forward this pregnancy.
